But once that is totally out of the equation, you can incorporate
flavors to your baked goods just by the choice of flour you use — suddenly you can choose from hazelnuts,
almonds,
coconut, quinoa, buckwheat, gosh the list of choices goes on
and on
and on.
I used my basic smoothie formula to come up with this Double Chocolate Chai Smoothie: 1 cup liquid like
almond milk or
coconut water, greens, creamy fruit like banana or mango, additional fruits
and veggies, a little healthy fat, a little protein, a little fiber, a little stevia, additional nutrient boosters like cacao, maca, goji, acai, etc.,
and spices
and / or
flavorings.
My favorite
flavors are Berry
and Coconut Almond.
I use them with Sliced
Almonds and blend them into nut bars using fresh
and dried fruits as well as some
coconut oil to bind it all together,
and cocoa powder to
flavor.
This Samoa cookie shake bursts with
flavor thanks to full - fat
coconut milk,
almond milk, dairy - free protein powder, unsweetened
coconut flakes, caramel sauce, toasted

and some chocolate chips.
To really dial in the classic

flavor, or a thickening agent, but I plan on experimenting with
almond flour,
and coconut flour.
I do, however, love
coconut and almonds and (obvi) chocolate, so the idea of an
Almond Joy - ish bar that has those
flavors combined in a healthier, better - tasting package, made from natural ingredients rather than who - knows - what, is right up my alley.
