coconut and chocolate gives them a wonderful Bounty - like flavor, but if you can't consume coconut, you can use any type of oil of your choice, and you can use any nut flour you like instead of the shredded coconut.

I added some shredded
coconut, which
gave it great texture,
and I plan on experimenting with
chocolate chips if I can ever get three ripe bananas all together in one place again.

But first, let me introduce Hot Cardamom
Chocolate, an unbelievably creamy
and delicious drink where dark cocoa powder
gives the ultimate chocolaty flavor,
coconut cream makes the drink rich
and thick
and where cardamom provides spiciness
and extra warmth.
I used 2 ounces of unsweetened baking
chocolate instead of 3 ounces
and used an ounce (or 3 tablespoons) of
coconut milk in it's place to
give it a milk chocolaty taste!

This will prevent the
coconut butter
and oil from seizing up
and will
give you a smoother filling
and a glossier
chocolate glaze.
I decorated the top with strawberries because we had been
given a large case by a friend, however you could ice this just the same way you could ice any cake or get creative
and maybe do something like an almond butter drizzle or add a
coconut flake topping with
chocolate ganache.
Given how many baked donuts recipes I have here for you to peruse (my current favs being these Strawberry Shortcake Donuts
and Coconut Lemon Donuts...
and these
Chocolate Espresso Donuts), this is probably no surprise.
[Because I'm aware the above is slightly wordy
and possibly confusing, here's the basic gist = Make a sticky protein mix by mixing nut - butter + protein - powder + oats / quinoa - flakes + whatever else you like in your bars - > coat them in
coconut flour
and give them rectangular shapes - > coat them in melted
chocolate - > fridge them - > boom!]
With plenty of
coconut butter, honey, vanilla, chia seeds,
coconut flour, shredded
coconut,
and (of course)
chocolate, these bars will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth while also
giving you enough energy to get through your afternoon with a smile on your face.
I am a massive fan milk
chocolate, so, could I add
coconut milk
and remove some cocoa powder to
give it a less intense taste?
* Side note: I substituted crumbled cookies (that were dairy - free
and gluten - free but not completely vegan) for the
chocolate shavings on top of the whipped topping
and I used powdered peanut butter in the So Delicious
Coconut Whip Cream on top to
give it a hint Reese's when you take a bite
and it's divine.
So yummy
and the texture the shredded
coconut gives it even feels like my family's dish in my mouth, but this one has
chocolate, almond
and coconut!
Once the
coconut cream is whipped
and the timer goes off from the
chocolate being in the fridge, take your
chocolate out
and give it a good stir.
I like to serve my hot
chocolate with a little bit of
coconut whipped cream so that the cold cream mixes in with the hot
chocolate and gives it a luscious creamy effect.
These malted superfood bars with mango

I changed Hannah K's recipe to include cacao butter, rendering the bar more solid at room temperature
and giving it that nice snap that
chocolate should have, but you can just replace it with more
coconut oil if you want.

giving up on my craving all together, I decided to whip up a batch of no - bake cookies with some of my favorite ingredients: almond flour, shredded
coconut,
coconut butter, honey,
and chocolate chips.
Pour in the
coconut oil
and chocolate chips
and give it a few more stirs, until just combined.
I really love
chocolate and coconut as a combo (hello bounty)
and the
coconut gives this fudge a creamier nuttier taste to make up for the missing dairy.

given the use of
