The two different blends I used were a 50/50 mix of beeswax and palm shortening (sourced sustainably) and a 1 pound beeswax to 1/2 cup of
coconut oil ratio for the second.

Safe cooking oils include extra virgin olive
oil,
coconut oil, and macadamia nut
oil, since all three have decent omega 3:6
ratios and high heat tolerance so they do not break down and wreak havoc in your body when you cook with them.
But recent research suggests that
coconut oil that's not partially hydrogenated (like it was in many early studies), is full of healthy fatty acids that are easier for the body to burn, and has actually been linked to health benefits like increased HDL «good» cholesterol and improved cholesterol
ratios.
They also point out that
coconut oil increases cholesterol, even if it does improve the HDL to LDL
ratio, making it a food to avoid in their opinion.

Experiment with the
ratio between
coconut oil and cacao butter and adjust it to the availability of these ingredients at our home!
I was also thinking about playing with the numbers and seeing if there's a
ratio of dried
coconut meat /
coconut oil that would get it to 1 g per tbs of the mixture.
It's also possible, depending on the
ratio of soap to
coconut oil, that you aren't getting much of the benefit of the soap.
Use 1:1:1
ratio of cacao powder or cocoa powder, melted
coconut oil, and sweetener of your choice (maple syrup, honey, agave nectar,
coconut sugar, etc.).
