I used honey instead of agave, and
coconut palm
sugar for half of the dates (I only had about 7 dates
on hand) and sweetened a bit more with 8 stevia drops.
The caramel here is
on the healthier side of the spectrum, made with
coconut milk and
coconut sugar instead of butter / regular
sugar, and the addition of miso adds a nice, salty hint to contrast all the sweetness.
