Bred to pull heavy loads in
the coldest climates on Earth, this dog is strong, tough, and independent.

«The result is not a surprise, but if you look at the global
climate models that have been used to analyze what the planet looked like 20,000 years ago — the same models used to predict global warming in the future — they are doing,
on average, a very good job reproducing how
cold it was in Antarctica,» said first author Kurt Cuffey, a glaciologist at the University of California, Berkeley, and professor of geography and of
earth and planetary sciences.
That was the last time
Earth experienced a long period with a
climate that,
on average, was warm before
cold ice ages began to alternate with mild interglacials.
Welcoming Boaty McBoatface back from its first mission, Universities and Science Minister Jo Johnson, said: «Fresh from its maiden voyage, Boaty is already delivering new insight into some of the
coldest ocean waters
on earth, giving scientists a greater understanding of changes in the Antarctic region and shaping a global effort to tackle
climate change.
«Today, we live in an unusually
cold period in the history of life
on earth and there is no reason to believe that a warmer
climate would be anything but beneficial for humans and the majority of other species.»
The last few million years have been generally
colder with ice ages, but if you go way back in time for many millions of years, there are much warmer
climates on Earth and we are very interested in modelling these.
In the first episode of Extreme Weather presented by Martine Croxall we take a look at the devastating floods which have hit Thailand, freak snow storms in the US, the
coldest places
on earth, dust storms in Texas and the likelihood of
climate change bringing
on more extreme weather.
They will do this through the creation of two
climate graphs - one for Prudhoe Bay in Northern Alaska, and one for Vostok Station, Antarctica - the
coldest place
on Earth.
After the year 1200AD, the
Earth's and Greenland's
climate grew
colder; ice started building up
on the southern tip of Greenland.
It turned out things were far more nuanced (as he later said, «The
Earth system may be less responsive in the warm times than it was in the
cold times»), but in a field that had long mainly foreseen smooth curves for planetary change with rising greenhouse gas levels, the result was a vital focus
on the risks of abrupt
climate change.
«The GHG «theory» based
on CO2 is a thermodynamic impossibility» Yes, the
climate alarmists peddle their pseudoscience claiming that the ghe works by transferring heat / thermal energy from the
cold atmosphere to the warmer surface of the
earth, more heat / thermal energy than is transferred by the Sun.
«Today, we live in an unusually
cold period in the history of life
on earth and there is no reason to believe that a warmer
climate would be anything but beneficial for humans and the majority of other species.»
Modern
Climate Theories
on the Consensus side and
on the Skeptic side makes
earth cold and then adds ice as a contributing feedback and makes
earth warm and removes ice as a contributing feedback.
AGW
climate scientists seem to ignore that while the
earth's surface may be warming, our atmosphere above 10,000 ft. above MSL is a refrigerator that can take water vapor scavenged from the vast oceans
on earth (which are also a formidable heat sink), lift it to
cold zones in the atmosphere by convective physical processes, chill it (removing vast amounts of heat from the atmosphere) or freeze it, (removing even more vast amounts of heat from the atmosphere) drop it
on land and oceans as rain, sleet or snow, moisturizing and cooling the soil, cooling the oceans and building polar ice caps and even more importantly, increasing the albedo of the
earth, with a critical negative feedback determining how much of the sun's energy is reflected back into space, changing the moment of inertia of the
earth by removing water mass from equatorial latitudes and transporting this water vapor mass to the poles, reducing the
earth's spin axis moment of inertia and speeding up its spin rate, etc..
So far we have adapted as needed, we found ways to live in hot
climates,
cold climates, inside the
Earth, above the
Earth, and hopefully soon
on another planet that is not
Earth.
That was the last time the
Earth experienced a long period with a
climate that,
on average, was warm before
cold ice ages began to alternate with mild interglacials.
Gibbs: Worldwide Record
Cold Result of
Climate Change When it was (incorrectly) asserted that 1998 was the hottest year
on record, that was to be taken as proof that the
Earth was warming and Mankind was responsible.
Whether this change in cyclicity means that
Earth is heading into still
colder climates, or
on its way out of this glacial period, I don't know.
«Humans have adapted to life
on earth ranging from ice sheets to mountains to tropics and have survived far warmer and far
colder climates than currently being experienced or forecast by the
climate doomists,» Prof Plimer said.
THE WORD OF GOD
ON GLOBAL WARMING /
CLIMATE CHANGE Gen 8:22 While the
earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and
cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
