Rolling through courses, smashing obstacles and
collecting blue orbs will be comfortingly familiar for any gamer, and while following the collectibles and speed arrows will usually show you the path to the level's end, there are a commendable number of extras planted on each world that keep things captivating for multiple playthroughs.
The gun and shield run off energy which can be replenished by
collecting blue orbs found from fallen enemies and within barrels scattered around levels.
Variety: 9/10 There is loads to do with your guns (Customisation) and the satisfaction of getting a scope (for example) through
collecting a blue orb from some random back alley is brilliant.

Unleashing the power of Chi, which powers up the attack and speed of your character after
collecting enough
blue orbs, helped add a little variety to the combat, but it wasn't enough to hold my interest.
You gain points by
collecting green
orbs (which also add 5 secs to your clock) and passing through
blue rings until you crash.
Each world also has coins and
blue orbs to
collect for the completionist in all of us.
You also
collect rings as per usual and
blue orbs to fill your dash meter.
