The widely varied work included in the exhibition represents the diversity of our faculty in terms of subject and medium, including analog and digital
color prints,
silver gelatin and platinum / palladium
prints, video, and photographic sculpture.

Over the past forty years I have produced five portfolios, including several series of sculpture - relief paintings, paintings on canvas and paper, and photography series both in

Like a
gelatin silver print, an older photographic process, the chromogenic
color print uses paper coated in several layers of
gelatin mixed with
silver.

Unlike his contemporaries William Eggleston and William Christenberry, who traversed the South and ventured into
color photography, Leigh stayed focused on his native Savannah and

In Untitled (Dingo 4), 1980, four identical
gelatin silver prints of a dog appeared side by side, each overlain with a small photocopy that was partially obscured, in turn, by a different -
colored paint chip — a frame - by - frame dissolve from
color to
color that recalled O'Neill's movies.
It was also at a moment when photography was gaining momentum as a recognized art form, while at the same time traditional
