Part of what makes milk chocolate taste so good (and have so many calories) is
the combination of added sugar and fat.
Not exact matches
Well it seems virtually anything goes: boiled
sugar on its own or a
combination of boiled
sugar with water and maybe
added butter or cream — hum?
So After cutting slices, I did a couple
of combination of vinegar and water
adding salt,
sugar and chilies to see how I get that taste back.
What's in it: 1 cup steal cut oats 1/2 cup quinoa (any color is fine), rinsed 1 14.5 oz can pumpkin puree 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice (or 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg) 1 tablespoon maple syrup (admit for no
sugar added,
add more if you like a sweeter oatmeal) 3 1/2 cups water 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or any other milk you like) Topping options (any
combination of your favorites): pomegranate seeds, chopped apples or pears, chia seeds, hemp hearts, pumpkin seeds, toasted or candied pecans, slivered almonds, roasted coconut chips, (brown
sugar or maple syrup if you have a sweet tooth).
Depending on the
combination and acidity
of the berries, additional
sugar may need to be
added.
The right
combination of grain free flours gives them classic texture and unrefined coconut
sugar adds the right amount
of sweetness.
However, if you
add sea salt, a touch
of maple
sugar, and the crispy crunchy texture
of toasted coconut to Tinstar's brown butter ghee, not only do you have something that tastes good, but you have got one unbeatable flavor
combination.
* 8 cups organic chicken stock, preferably homemade * 5 kaffir lime leaves * 1 thumb - sized chunk
of fresh ginger, peeled * 2 tablespoons «Dates and Tamarind Cooking Sauce» (I used the one from Stonehouse 27 which is a great
combination of sweet and spicy; if you can't find it, I would
add a tablespoon or two
of palm or brown
sugar to sweeten the broth and some minced fresh hot chile pepper / dried Thai chiles / hot chile sauce to spice it up) * 2 tablespoons Thai fish sauce * 3 medium carrots, peeled if not organic and cut lengthwise into strips a few inches long * 1 red pepper, preferably organic, seeded and thinly sliced lengthwise * green tops from 1 bunch
of green onions / scallions, cut to approximately same length as carrots and peppers * 12 oz.
Mostly it's the
combination of spices, but using all brown
sugar and apple cider vinegar also
add to the deliciousness.
The
combination of sweet blueberries, cinnamon and vanilla extract
add natural sweetness that in my mind tastes much better than plain old
sugar.
The sauce is made
of a simple
combination of olive oil, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and Italian seasonings, so there isn't any
added sugar or salt that you often find in store - bought sauces.
I do these with a
combination of 2 tbsp sirracha and 1/4 cup franks red hot sauce (both have no
sugar and are clean sauces)
add 2 tbsp coconut oil melted and garlic.
Love... We've a few times now, and soaked the cut dates 5 mins prior or not...
added half a slice
of orange on top
of each wedge sprinkled with
sugar,
added more zest and orange... All
combinations work beautifully, depending on your mood... Perfect with a hot cup
of tea x
Much
of the chocolate consumed today is in the form
of sweet chocolate, a
