For me this is one of the best
comedy films I have seen.
Long story short, if you liked those movies, you'll like this one — it's easily the best comedy film I've seen all year.

The dark
comedy Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri won big at the Golden Globes earlier this year, but the
film has also
seen a sustained backlash from critics over its questionable ending and a perceived failure in fleshing out the movie's non-white characters.
The
film, which hits theaters February 16, is a modern twist on a romantic
comedy (boy and girl meet, fall in love, but then break up, and are suddenly reunited, ending up in that awkward stage where they
have to debate whether to wave hello while taking out the trash), but it's also a particularly female spin on the coming of age story, the likes of which we're only beginning to
see onscreen as more women carve out a place for themselves in writer's rooms and director's chairs.
I went in this movie expecting a cheap slasher horror
film, but I was
having high expectations, because it
has been announced in development since 2009, what I got was way too more in depth than I was barging for, this movie can't be reviewed without spoiling it, what I
have to say is...

comedy with mystery and great visuals (hint)

This is one of the best
comedies that I
've seen and is a must
see for
comedy fans who want an effective spy
film parody that actually makes you laugh.
The
film is just a caricature of every other college
comedy; we
've seen it all before, this one is just predictable with a wasted cast.
Paul Feig's
film has gambled on women, assuming that female moviegoers are sick of being reduced to man - starved, materialistic shopaholics by Hollywood, and want to
see a mainstream
comedy which gives them a chance to live and breathe as honest to god, funny, interesting people with their own point of view.
As an uberfan of the so - bad - it's - good masterpiece The Room and a solid admirer of The Disaster Artist, The Room co-star Greg Sestero's tell - all book about the making of mysterious vampiric figure Tommy Wiseau's «Tennessee Williams style melodrama as told by an alien who
has apparently never
seen normal human beings interact» drama - turned - dark -
comedy - after - initial - audience - reactions - full - of - howling - laughter, I was a bit reserved in my excitement when I found out that James Franco was going to direct the
film adaptation, as well as portraying Wiseau himself.
Sure, they may
have popped up in the odd
film to give a solid dramatic performance, or cameo in a
comedy, but the real magic from
seeing these actors on - screen just is not the same anymore.
Tandy Cronyn's earliest
film appearance was in the obscure agit - prop
comedy Praise Marx and Pass the Ammunition (1970); she
has since been
seen in such productions as All Night Long (1981), Once Upon a Time in America (1984), and the made - for - TV The Story Lady (1991), in which she co-starred with her mother, Jessica Tandy.
Since it's a
comedy, and we
see a lot of funny moments during this nearly 2 - hour long movie thanks to Sandler's commitment to his character, were i a
film critic i
would certainly grade «You Don't Mess with the Zohan» somewhere between 60 and 64
Best horror
comedy I
have ever
seen, it
has humour, gory, action and violence,
has all the ingredients to make a fantastic
film.
Greta Gerwig who wrote and directed «Lady Bird,» which won Best Motion Picture - Musical or
Comedy, noted that «it's been such an incredible year for women in
film both as actors and also writers and directors and producers and people who are really coming to the forefront to tell their stories about the world as they know it from where they are standing, and I think that the response to these projects and the support that these projects
have gotten and the way that audiences are going to
see them or watching them in their homes, I think all of this just makes it so much easier for the next crop of filmmakers who want to tell stories about women.»
Although there
have been many
films about pregnancy and the fears involved in
having a baby, there are angles here not often taken before in
comedy, including what goes through a man's mind when
having sex with a pregnant woman («I don't want that to be the first thing the baby
sees», etc.) that is funny (because it probably actually does go through a man's mind).
Not everything he's made
has been a hit, but the last few years
have seen Nicholas Stoller establish himself as one of the more reliable
comedy directors in the business, with
films like «Forgetting Sarah Marshall,» «The Muppets» (which he co-wrote) and «Get Him To The Greek.»
The Thunder Buddies return next week with the U.S. release of the
comedy sequel Ted 2, and a rather excellent Flash Gordon - inspired poster
has arrived online for the Seth MacFarlane
film, which you can

Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes (in what feels like a rare turn)
have palpable chemistry, and the
film is shot with the sweeping air of off your feet romance that we desperately want to
see in our romantic
comedies.
The
film recognizes how they
've cut themselves off, but it also takes no small amount of cringe -
comedy glee in just how terribly they treat others (
see: Philip telling one of his creative writing students that he can't write her a letter of recommendation, but he can give her a piece of paper with some staples in it).
The screenplay
had originally been scripted by Edgar Wright (The World's End, Scott Pilgrim) and Joe Cornish (The Adventures of Tintin, Attack the Block), with Wright, who
had cultivated the vision of Ant - Man for years, intending to direct, but creative differences
saw a divorce from the project (Marvel became more controlling as they grew to massive popularity — a queen ant that expects its workers to keep the colony running smoothly), leading to rewrites by Adam McKay (Anchorman 2, Talladega Nights), and eventually Rudd himself during
filming, while fluff -
comedy veteran Peyton Reed
had been brought in to mold it more in the shape that Marvel Studios
had been seeking.
Had a great time at the TimeOut screening to
see this
film, a must watch action
comedy!
With echoes of Don McKellar's Last Night (a brilliant little
film if you
've never
seen it) blending with a Steve Carell
comedy and American indie sensibilities, Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World promises two things: a road trip with Keira Knightley and a title that most cinemas will
have trouble fitting on their marquees.
To Peele's knowledge, former President Obama, who famously tapped his
comedy partner Keegan Michael Key to bring the duo's «Obama Anger Translator» sketch to the 2015 White House Correspondents Dinner, hasn't yet
seen «Get Out» — although former first daughter Malia Obama was in attendance at the
film's Sundance premiere.
The vibe of the
film is different, refreshing and it makes for one of the best romantic
comedies that I
have seen.
Snubbed even by the Golden Globes, who
have their own
comedy or musical categories, Logan Lucky
has been on home video since November, itching as one of last year's best
films you haven't
seen.
What I
saw was a very funny
comedy that
has a good take on the tropes of slasher
films, but also a movie that
has a really effective core about dealing with difficult family trauma.
WHY: Phil Morrison is perhaps best known for directing the Oscar - nominated
film «Junebug,» but any promise that he may
have showcased with that movie
has likely already been forgotten about between his little -
seen follow - up «Perfect Partner» and this joyless black
comedy.

The early 1970s to the late 1980s was a unique moment in Australian cinema history; a time when censorship was reigned in and home - grown production flourished, resulting in a flurry of exploitation
films — sex
comedies, horror movies and action thrillers — that pushed buttons and boundaries, trampled over taste and decency, but also offered artistry within their escapism, giving audiences sights and sounds unlike anything they
had seen in Australia before.
More light - hearted
comedy, than dumb slapstick,
Has a few funny moments, overall enjoyable
film and worth
seeing.
Though I'm a little surprised that the
comedy wasn't raunchier, it's nice to
see an R - rated
film that doesn't feel like it
has to resort to crude humor for laughs.
John can currently be
seen in the revisionist thriller «The Raven» as American poet Edgar Allen Poe, and
has a number of other projects in the works, including the black - ops thriller «The Numbers Station,» the Spanish - language

By far the funniest
film from last and one of the best
comedies I
've seen in recent times.
After
seeing a promotional video for Ant - Man and The Wasp, a Russian commentator
has described the
film as Marvel's first romantic
comedy.
Whether or not this
film will go down as the cult classic that Rogen and Goldberg are clearly hoping for remains to be
seen, but come the end of 2013, it will certainly register in the memory banks of cinema - goers to a much larger degree than all the
comedy films that
have preceded it this year.
Also at the festival are under - the - radar pictures like the Clive Owen / Juliette Binoche
film «Words And Pictures,» Andre 3000 - starring Jimi Hendrix biopic «All Is By My Side,»
comedy - drama «You Are Here,» the feature debut of «Mad Men» creator Matthew Wiener, Biafra war
film «Half Of A Yellow Sun» with Chiwetel Ejiofor, the James Corden - starring «One Chance» (which
has the Weinstein Company «s backing, but seems more «Unfinished Song» than «Silver Linings Playbook «-RRB- and, perhaps most importantly, Stephen Frears ««Philomena,» which could
see Judi Dench being in contention.
When you
've finished that, follow it up with Big Trouble In Little China, the fantasy
comedy that's really unlike any other
film you
've seen.
Last week we
saw a poster and two TV spots from the upcoming Will Ferrell / Mark Wahlberg
comedy Daddy's Home [watch them here] and now Paramount Pictures
has released a new clip from the
film entitled «Hitting the Cheerleaders».
His swan song, Parade, sorely underrated by the small number of critics who
've actually
seen it, was a clean break from Hulot, and as such, feels more free than anything else Tati ever made — it's a difficult
film for people who may be expecting another lighthearted, whimsical
comedy, instead of an experimental
film that uses a circus performance as its foundation, but in its own way, it's the ultimate Tati, an undiluted expression of what he loved to do and to
see, and what hats to put on.
I understand this may be largely a matter of categorization, but it doesn't matter: Elf is a funnier, richer, and all - around better
film than most of the
comedies I
've seen in the past 16 years.
I
've seen three Larson
films (1, 2, 3) and two of Wheatley's (1, 2) at previous festivals and can not wait to get my eyeballs on this bloody, funny, and no doubt dazzling action
comedy from a filmmaker like no other.
Although there is no reason you
'd see this in the theatre (unless you're some kind of sicko or
film critic or something), should you find it on TNT late night next month, give it a few minutes — it's the funniest American
comedy since Graffiti Bridge.
Essentially, Pixels is a movie that's trying to fuse old school video games with
comedy in order to create a
film is something that I could
have always
seen working.
My favourite
film of 2012 was a strange Belgian
comedy called The Fairy which starred a limber comedic duo like nothing I
had seen before.
Pantelion Films
has debuted another new official US trailer for the
film How to Be a Latin Lover, a
comedy from Ken Marino starring Eugenio Derbez (
seen in Jack and Jill, Miracles from Heaven, The Book of Life).
Netflix
has added to its original feature
film slate by snapping up the rights to Special Correspondents, the upcoming remake of the 2009 French
comedy of the same name, which
sees Ricky Gervais directing and co-starring with Eric Bana (Deliver Us from Evil).
It is traditional to complain that
comedy is overlooked in awards ceremonies — and I
have done my own share of whingeing on this account — so it's great to
see properly funny
films rewarded in this way.
Those who are dedicated fans of
comedy duo Tim & Eric
have most likely already
seen their 2012
film, Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie.
