But that's not the big surprise about the film: this story
of an arrogant, over-the-hill slugger (Mac) who
comes out of retirement to chalk up his 3000th hit is more
of a serious sports film than a knee - slapping comedy, and Mac gets a rare opportunity to showcase his true dramatic range as an
actor.
