Since 1976,
in honor of the significant contribution of Black attorneys dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, justice, equal opportunity and positive
change, the Barristers» Association of Philadelphia, Inc. has held an annual dinner to celebrate up - and -
coming law students, practicing attorneys and jurists who embody professionalism, dedication to the
profession as well as a commitment to the Black Philadelphia
legal community and public communities.
At the same time, law schools are failing to provide these same lawyers with basic
legal skills upon graduation - something that will
come back to haunt the
legal profession in a few years if
changes are not made.
Why are lawyers as a
profession so hesitant to adapt to these
changes in technology, what will it take for the
legal profession to eventually
come around, and how are different jurisdictions effecting the necessary
changes?
