Only about 30 percent of the more than 10,000 animals that
came into the shelter in 1985 were either adopted or reclaimed by their owners.
In 1999, I founded Emancipet with the hope of reducing the number of animals

comes from, they're not bothered by the misery the mother will continue to suffer, are the same people who, for whatever reason, have no problem dumping their dog at a kill
shelter.
