book Separation of Church and State as a «magnificent» debunking of Jefferson's wall between church and state.
Last week I
reviewed The Challenge of Jesus by NT Wright, and announced that those who
commented on the post would be entered in a drawing for a free copy of the
book.
The author
reviews three
books on motherhood, and
comments that through a holy blend of social criticism and spiritual fortitude, women with children might be able to resist the guilt and perfectionism that, if these authors are correct, are now the signatures of motherhood.
William Gallagher, PS 4:263 - 74 (1974),
comments on the above discussion, as does Lewis S. Ford, PS 3:104 - 18 (1973), in a
review of a relevant
book by Ivor Leclerc, The Nature of Physical Existence (New York; Humanities Press, 1972).
The laws, which are now being
reviewed under a public
comment period, will likely spark a legal battle over who would pay for burials and whether or not such rules should even be
on the
books.
I read a
review on Amazon of your
book which
comments on the similarity of recipes between your
book and The Oh She Glows blog by Angela Liddon.
The thing that really gets me, though, is how often these negative
comments (and even
reviews on my
books) include things like «the writer only tells why punishment is bad, but doesn't give alternatives.»
«I heard that people read the
review and didn't buy the
book on my recommendation,» Gardner
comments.

review process, Baum was offered far more drop downs — including the options to
comment more than once
on the author's writing ability and the quality of the
book — than I was
on the twenty or so titles I searched through this drop down process.
The collaborative features of The Reedsy
Book Editor allow multiple people to work
on a manuscript at once, tracking their changes for
review and leaving
comments for discussion and clarification.
I already
commented on someone else's
review of this
book.
Lastly, the only dangerous situation that is being caused is by the people who believe they have a right to «don» a fake persona, and rabidly attack others
on - line, simply because they have a point of view that someone doesn't like, or as
on GoodReads they break the pseudo-golden rule of making a
comment, any
comment on one of their own
book reviews.
Locke's
book seems to have had mixed
reviews on amazon.Lot's of padding from the
comments.

If I see a horrible
review of a
book that I personally loved and I choose to
comment on that
review to question why the reader hated it, how does that suddenly make the author at fault?
Still, my
book has a straight 5 - star rating
on Goodreads, and the lowest
review I've ever received
on Amazon is a 4 - star with not a single negative
comment.
As for The
Book Markeitng Network, I don't mind you plugging your work by including a link
on any post you make
on this discussion or any and all of my
reviews - as long as you take the time to read them and post a relevant
comment: --RRB-
The
comment feature
on Amazon
reviews is a fantastic way to thank readers for taking the time to read your
book, and that added, personalized engagement is priceless when it comes to ensuring they come back for your next release.
I spent the credit
on your
book, because reading the Audible
reviews, the plot summary, etc, someone else rejoiced it was PG, and many
commented about the humor.
Tip:
comments on your blog can also suffice as
reviews prior to
book publication.
The message was echoed in some of the
comments, a la «Indie
books are crap, I skip them entirely» and «No wonder they have to pay for
reviews, they suck» and so
on.
Such results in so short a time period are remarkable, particularly when considering the lengthy lead - time most major media need to
review and
comment on books.
Here's a hint: the reviewer liked our pitch enough to
comment on it in the actual
book review!
So yesterday
on the phenomenal
review of Red over at Smart Bitches, Trashy
Books (see, I'm so excited I had to slip that in and share it with you again, in case you missed it), someone made a
comment about my cover being «just like» the cover of Under Her Skin.
