It's just suggesting that blogging and
commenting on atheist topics is the equivalent of a church for atheists.

I'm amazed at the hatred coming from
atheists on this
comment board.
Typical
atheist response... it's funny how
atheist blame the world's problems
on religion, when it's hate - filled
comments like these, that show how the
atheist are leading the moral decline of the world.
Looking back at the different
comment threads
on this article the usual banter has
atheists and Christians exchanging angry and and mean
comments at each other.
This and many
comments to articles
on the debate are often filled with Xtians and
atheists throwing bitter and nasty attacks at each other.
Mark from the Middle you reflect poorly upon Christianity when you sink to hateful name calling «
Atheist garbage» and «filth» You might want to take a look at your own life and remove the log from your own eye before
commenting on the splinter in your brother's.
Obviously they're not true
atheist if they would even read an article about religion, because according to their beliefs, after this life, there is nothing, so why do they feel the need to
comment on something they say doesn't exist?
Does this «Hitler was an
atheist,» boondoggle have to be rebut - ted in every single
comments section of every single article posted
on this blog?
So — my only question to you Biff — is why are you reading and
commenting on a religious article
on the Belief blog — if you are an
atheist and nihilist?

commenting on religious matters, it is important since uncontrolled religion can lead to various levels of theocracy (e.g. Iran in the extreme case) which obviously would be detrimental to all of us.
I first said, «these
atheists» and my second reference said, «an
atheist», which makes it sould like all
atheists are like the ones that
comment on the religion blog here.
I haven't seen this film, and so can not
comment on it - but to all who lump
atheists with communists, nazis, hedonists, and every other debased human quality, you are wrong.
The vast majority of
atheists I've heard from, including
on comment sections like this one, argue from emotional standpoints.
All the
atheists in these
comments are claiming a monopoly
on logic and reason.

I can't find any respect for
atheists — I hate to make sweeping generalizations but based
on the
comments in this blog, I would call them them most hateful, self - centered & self - absorbed people I have ever encountered.
Sheik, I have no prejudice against
atheists, but I do have issues with people who act the way you have represented yourself
on this
comment board.
Because if you read through the
comments in these blogs, you'll notice that what many
atheists despise the most is when the extremely fundamentally religious judge their fellow man based
on their exaggerated interpretation of the Bible, neither of which they can credibly give justification for.
It seems that the
Atheist who are insistent
on insulting and stating mean - spirited
comments of believers are the ones who get all the publicity!
Your statement that «all the

atheists) do not come from happy people... who despise, are upset, have nothing, are not thankful and... have nothing to live for» goes against the very way that both Jesus and the apostles taught when speaking with individuals who do not share their view.
Me, as a christian, and you, as an
atheist; we disagree
on what happens after death, but i think (from the
comments you've posted) we share that
on our limited time
on earth we should do as much as we can to be respectful to one another.
As long as people believe in a god there will be people whose «personal knowledge» of what that god wants will drive them to harm others, and that's why
atheists tend to be down
on the whole god thing instead of just letting you folks do your thing without
comment.
There are plenty of rude

atheists on here, but none surpass those of the Christian dimwit
on here advocating segregation of gays.

I simply can't support or buy into the theories of

atheists tried to be allowed to have equal time at government meetings to present
comments on «Why God is Dead», Christians would go berserk and you KNOW it.

There are too many
atheists toting that kind of hatred that many people

I won't bother to weigh in
on who's smarter,
atheists or religious folk, but I would like to
comment on one argument the religious have been using.
I have never seen an
atheists post loving
comments on any religious blogs.
Jeff, while
on the surface your
comments make sense; however, IF you dig down, and look at the real issues at hand, it is much more often and with much more vehemence, that Christians condemn
atheists as «idiots» «heathens» «unclean» and any number of other rather unpleasant names.
A great deal of
atheists must care enough to
comment on here.
The «dictionary»
comment, is a satirical jab at
atheists based in reductio absurdum... intended to provoke a passionate response (like cheese
on a mousetrap, as I said).
Based
on a number of posted
comments, there is a large population that have a misconception of what an
Atheist is.
I also have to
comment on this argument «Those who died in the attacks were of many faiths including Christian, Jews, Muslims, Buddhist and yes even some
Atheist.
But
Atheists always
comment on the bearded white guy as a way to try and marginalize someone else's beliefs.
