Couldn't seem to leave a
comment — user error, I am sure — on your recent
book review about the two girls, with the eerie blue cover, but I am going to save it to Goodreads.
If a reader shares a

book you've read, take the time to read their
review and
comment with what you enjoyed
about the
book.
I don't recollect exactly re Tin House - but I'm sure article submissions was a part of it; and I assume his
comments also applied to people contacting
about being prospective reviewers and probably authors contacting asking if their
book can be
reviewed.

At the bottom of your
Review Page, there is a section where visitors can post their own
reviews /
comments about your
book using our
comment system and / or Facebook's
comment system.
It's a great point
about GoodReads: People read GoodReads
comments and
reviews * after * having read the
book, not * while * they're actually reading it.
Don't make the mistake of reacting too quickly to a bad
review or a negative
comment about your self - published
book.
I spent the credit on your
book, because reading the Audible
reviews, the plot summary, etc, someone else rejoiced it was PG, and many
commented about the humor.
Farland's
comments have prompted me to declare my own policies
about writing
book reviews or «blurbs» for other authors, and seeking them for my own
books:
Use Twitter to post
reviews or
comments about famous
books in your genre.
So yesterday on the phenomenal
review of Red over at Smart Bitches, Trashy
Books (see, I'm so excited I had to slip that in and share it with you again, in case you missed it), someone made a
comment about my cover being «just like» the cover of Under Her Skin.

about one in a blog and it catches your fancy, the buy button is just a click away - and it's linked into the blog, tweet,
comment or
book review.
Aggregating
reviews and
comments about a
book would also be useful.
When I talk to authors
about reviews, many think only of reader
reviews — those reader
comments on your
book that appear on Amazon, Goodreads, and other online sites.
Especially because so many of the people who
commented on my post talked
about choosing
books based on bookstore recommendations and browsing physical stores rather than reading
reviews online.

Agreed, I was in a group last week that was
commenting about giving away 30,000
books and having only gained an average of 2 - 3
reviews.
If you get
comments in
reviews about having a poorly edited
book, that will work against you.

reviews to see people's
comments about location and how convenient it is for other places.
