Any comments on the climate impact aspect?
Not exact matches
Richard Betts, the head of the
climate impacts section of Britain's Met Office, recently left a
comment on the «skeptic» * blog Bishop Hill stating that thresholds for
climate danger, such as the much ballyhooed 2 - degree limit enshrined in recent
climate pledges, were not determined by science:
Responding to
comments 14, 25, and 56: I'm a policy analyst in Seattle, well - read
on the
impacts of
climate change, but also other global resource constraints — like peak oil, peak phosphorus and the limits of industrial agriculture, waters supply (closely related to
climate), and human systems / governance.
As author and co-editor of a new fire book, «The Ecological Importance of Mixed - Severity Fires — Nature's Phoenix,» I would like to
comment on Lindon's hypothesis that by «controlling» fire we can reduce
climate change
impacts.
My
comments: As I read this paper, the debate
on the
impact of the sun
on the
climate is closing.

Some of my general
comments are below: (Nov. 27, 2012 Board Meeting, Item 4.1) Later
on I suggested that we have a «
Climate Impact» discussion included in every agenda item just like we currently have a «Financial
Impact» discussion with every agenda item.
The other features — already mentioned — were the identification of dominant regional concerns, the highlighting of
climate change
impacts already occurring, and the report's effectiveness as an engagement tool, which Mooney had just
commented on, plus one more thing: the focus
on extreme events, which are both most noticeable by the public and the primary source of economic damage in the next several decades, as Dr. Michael Hanemann (author of this paper) explained to me for a story I wrote about the California drought.
In a July 18 interview
on Free Speech Radio News, CSW director Rick Piltz

climate change
impacts on human health and welfare, and how the administration is... Continue reading →

I've repeatedly made similar
comments on how there are far bigger issues needing to be addressed than potential
impacts from «
climate change» and attempts to focus resources
on these suppossed
impacts is most likely going to lead us down a dark alley.

on Climate Change Having a Dire
Impact on Health
As part of our contribution, CSW
commented that the document might carry greater relevance for decision - makers who want to advance a needed adaptation agenda to an unconvinced or
climate - skeptic audience (a very real possibility) by including more explicit language
on the ways in which
climate change issues can be framed to appeal to diverse groups — for example, emphasizing the potential damages to people and property to one community, the negative
impacts to industry in another.
