The Federal Reserve's open market
committee (FOMC)
hinted in the minutes of its December meeting that it could
take the punch bowl away before the festivities get out of hand.
Andrew Tyrie, who has been campaigning on it entirely separately to his work as chair of the Treasury select
committee, has been pleased with the government's approach ever since David Cameron
hinted he would
take this route in a recent appearance before MPs.
