You can use modern flourishes such as sans serif font headers, but make sure you still use
common system fonts compatible across various devices.

The touch - screen display that goes with most Sync installations, called MyFord Touch or MyLincoln Touch, suffered from small
fonts (but it met industry specs, Ford explained), slow operation, blue screens of death, and the difficulty of tapping a touch screen on a moving car that is
common to all touch - screen
systems.
Using a
common, clean
font may not make your resume the prettiest out there, but it will make it more readable (and less likely to be rejected by applicant tracking
systems).
The solution here is to create a second version of your resume / CV that has been specifically optimized for these
systems (including keywords that match the job description, no images,
common fonts such as Arial or Times New Roman
fonts, etc.).
And use a popular
common font vs. an intricate one to ensure that it's compatible with all
systems.
