Rumble Arena was a
game where I had a lot of fun
fighting other Digimon, with a
game mode very similar to Super Smash Bros. where
players could move more freely
compared to a more classic
fighting game.
The
game includes very unique features when
compared to other
fighting games available at the time, including a special Line Battle system that allows
players to traverse between the foreground and background and 2 -
player co-op functionality.
Even Ghosts» Safeguard horde mode (another co-op mode in Squads), which pits
players against waves of mindless, gun - toting enemies, is bland, especially
compared to the thrill of
fighting an army of enemies in the previous
games» Spec Ops co-op.
Both
fights from North America and Japan went off without a hitch, any major lag or disconnects, although due to the
game's more indie nature there's worry if in a year or two from now there will be enough
players around
compared to the more popular
games.
That being said, what's different about this
game when
compared to other
fighting games, is that even though it has simple controls and does not require the
player to memorize combo commands, this
game is filled with fun and exciting
fighting game aspects.
But some
games still reign higher than others: a great example would be
comparing Blizzard's World of Warcraft, which has brought millions of
players to work and
fight together towards a goal, to The Witcher, which is an incredibly popular but nevertheless still a single -
player game.
The gameplay of Arms is a bit unusual
compared to other types of
fighting games, giving
players control over characters from a third - person point of view with a strong emphasis on agility and reflexes alone and without much if anything in the way of moves or combos.
Even with its lack of single
player modes, especially
compared to previous entries in the series, Tekken 7 manages to be one of the best
fighting games released this year on PC and consoles.
