Early in this pregnancy, however, it was discovered that I had
a complete placenta previa: My placenta, which in a healthy pregnancy resides at the top of the uterus, was located in the lower segment of my uterus.
My personal choice is simply to refuse any labor induction, augmentation, or intervention without a clear medical reason (as there was with
complete placenta previa with my third, when natural birth would have been impossible).
There are very few scenarios in which a C - section is TRULY medically necessary, namely
complete placenta previa or placental abruption, transverse lie, cord prolapse and true cephalo - pelvic disproportionment (which is exceptionally rare).
