teacher provisions by requiring districts to provide mentoring and professional development to
teachers who have not
completed a state - approved
teacher preparation program and obtained full certification was rejected
out of concerns that it would harm Teach For America and other alternative certification
programs.
Out - of - state applicants who have a valid teaching license from another state may qualify for a teaching certificate in Minnesota provided that they have
completed a
teacher preparation program from an accredited institution of higher learning and that their training is deemed equivalent to that offered by approved Minnesota
teacher preparation programs.
