Accommodation comes in two main flavours: freestanding
wooden bungalows with compact private bathrooms and fan or air -
con, and an air -
con dorm.
Bungalows are less rustic and more refined, and rooms come with better linen, mosquito net, bedside table, older - style cable TVs, solid
wooden floor boards and clean hot water bathrooms with Western toilet, plus air -
con in the more expensive rooms.
The
bungalows with attached bathroom is a definite step up, with optional air -
con, large windows with
wooden shutters on all side, great for letting in fresh air and light.
Built from brick and roofed with
wooden shingles, the air -
con bungalows are hedged with foliage seeming like each has a private garden.
Wooden floors and woven bamboo walls with only shuttered windows, no glass, make them fairy dark inside when all closed up, but with doors and shutters open it's bright and breezy, if a little on the warm side for some guests, as the
bungalows are only cooled with a couple of standard fans, no punkah wallahs or air -
con here (however, we thought the temperature was pleasant).
