It may be increasingly necessary, however, to allow the
concrete situation, rather than the biblical revelation, to propose the «doctrinal» loci or the organizing forms in terms
of which biblical faith needs to
speak, because the secularism
of our time has so transformed the
way people think that Christian faith is now in a cross-cultural situation.

of a structured society) which gives
way to the category
of «actual entity» as the term descriptive
of ultimate,
concrete reality.
That significance lies in the undeniable fact that the God who «made known his
ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children
of Israel,» revealed himself as a
concrete reality afresh in and through the words
of this man, who «
spoke as never man
spoke.»
To
speak in that
way of factors that make a given theological school
concrete is to
speak very misleadingly.
