The practical training will take place over 3 days; 1 afternoon
of confined water training and 2 mornings of open water training dives.
The final 2 days of the course are spent focusing on Open Water Dives, where you will use all the knowledge and skills that you have learned
in confined water training to manage several different rescue scenarios in an Open Water environment.
You complete your entire academic and
confined water training at home with your local dive shop, they issue you a «referral form» and then you come to Grand Cayman to do your 4 open water dives.
The dive boats return to the resort between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.. For trainees, the dive boats leave for Elephant
Beach confined water training spot by 8:30 a.m. and return between 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Light lunch, biscuits and snacks are provided during the trips.
The confined water training and eLearning quick review will be completed on the first day of your course.
Completing a full open water course takes 3 - 4 days and includes academics,
confined water training and 4 - 5 open water dives (pending agency).
- The first day contains knowledge development in the morning and
confined water training (diving in the swimming pool) in the afternoon.
After
the confine water training, you will have the chance to go diving in open water under the watchful eye of a dive - master.
All confined water training is conducted at the dive shop, an instructor training facility, located in the heart of Byron Bay.
Confined Water Training — We teach this in «swimming pool like» conditions at our shore location.
As an Assistant Instructor you may assume limited teaching responsibilities including the Snorkeling and Discover Scuba Experience programmes and Project Aware and Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialties,
Confined Water training and Open Water training presentations
The course takes three days and is divided into knowledge development,
confined water training and open water dives.
We can meet you onboard your vessel and make all of the arrangements for
the confined water training and open water dives.
This course follows the Semi-Private Course with a private instructor in
the confined water training, but with the private course, you will also have a private instructor on the ocean diving portion as well.
Days 2 — Again you will meet in the morning to complete
the confined water training of the course, then on to finish your last two open ocean dives.
A confined water training session may be required, at the discretion of the instructor conducting the course, to verify participants skills level.
The four open water dives are when the student weaves together the academic and
confined water training to experience the wonders and freedoms of the underwater world.
The Confined Water Training is completed here off the beach in very shallow water.
The course itself can be broken down into three parts: knowledge development;
confined water training; and open water training.
Then we train you how to assist an instructor during the teaching of PADI courses, in both open and
confined water training.
In the four Open Water Dives the student weaves together the academic and
confined water training to experience the wonders and freedoms of the underwater world.
