The root cause of mental health
issues is part physical imbalance (e.g., chronic inflammation, thyroid dysfunction, autoimmunity, hormone imbalance, blood sugar dysregulation, chronic sleep deprivation), and part psychospiritual (e.g., history of trauma, cognitive distortions, social isolation, chronic stress, living out of alignment with the way human beings evolved to thrive — eating real
food, moving their bodies, sleeping in darkness, breathing fresh air, drinking clean water, seeing the sun,
connected to nature, and deeply rooted in community).
But there are other possible
issues surrounding that kind of thing and there are a lot of reasons why, for instance, a person, there can be other carbohydrate based
foods where the
issue may or may not be sugar, but may also
connect to certain other things.

Having a chef in the White House that understands the
issues connecting food, agriculture, health and the environment can only be a good thing.
This may be a bit of «news of the obvious» to those involved in
food system
issues, but for the average person who doesn't necessarily
connect the dots between their
food and the other resources that go into producing it, it may come as a bit of a surprise that meat waste is the worst waste when it comes to
food.
We
connect families to resources to assist with mental health, domestic violence,
food, and housing
issues.
The ministries that concern themselves with safety in a variety of guises (
food, drinking water, public health, but not crime on the streets) or any
issues connected to the environment and conservation have been given carte blanche clout and credit to quick - step the regulatory march.
