The initial aim is derived from God, but although the character of the initial aim is of crucial importance to the becoming occasion, the fact that it is derived from God usually plays but a small role in
its conscious subjective form.

Such actual entities are organisms that undergo growth; they are subjects and have feelings with more or less
subjective intensity; they engage in a self - creation that is an integration; they make decisions; they have aims; they may or may not accept persuasions; they may entertain propositions; they
form societies; they enjoy satisfactions; and some of them are even
conscious.
Even in meditation this
subjective change is occurring, though not in the
form of rapidly shifting thoughts and
conscious feelings.
If my past self was
conscious, then it is now
conscious in God, since consciousness is part of the

subjective form» of the prehension, is affected by her tiredness and the soreness of some of her muscles as well as by vague and half -
conscious hopes and fears.
We are not
conscious of the individual feeling tones that constitute the
subjective forms of those prehensions or of the individual elements that go into the composition of our mentality.
