Few months back I
considered myself a rabid AOB sort of a Piers Morgan type, after some time I came to terms with myself that nothing was going to change, it did not matter my tirades or how many comments would post, things at ARSENAL would not change, our destiny is intertwine with AW till the day he decides is enough for him or his Contract is over, for sure not before that, SO there is no point anymore in pointing AW deficiencies nor trashing the Man, he reached the top of his abilities and is consistent with that, making the top 4 reaching the last 16 at the CL and

In order for the Lacazette experiment to succeed several things need to occur, many of which will require Wenger to act in a very unlike Wenger fashion... firstly, Wenger has to commit to Lacazette
as the number 1 striking option, which could prove difficult
considering the way in which he has approached that position since RVP's departure... remember that Lacazette has only been here for a
cup of coffee and yet he has already played out on the left... I'm truly worried that upon further reflection the club won't be able to resist an increased offer, under the guise that the work environment is increasingly untenable, and Sanchez will find himself elsewhere come September (I pray not though); if that were to happen I fear that Lacazette will be played along side Giroud
That would be a good season for me, anything less should be avoided however I will be ok with FA
Cup and a top 4 finish

As it stands, this squad is fairly well positioned to compete for the Wenger
Cup and make a deep run in the Europa, if and only if we play first stringers in Europe and use the bench for the League and FA Cups... that being said, and based on the fragility of the manager and the team in recent campaigns, it's more likely that Wenger will focus on a top 4 finish and the FA
Cup... while the reasons for such an approach may appear logical, it would confirm a rather disturbing trend and appear counter intuitive for any team which claims to have higher aspirations... I feel that Wenger simply can't afford to put all his eggs in the Europa basket because if he fails the potential backlash could cripple any top 4 chances due to the aforementioned fragile psyche that tends to rear it's ugly head like our own personal groundhog day each and every February... furthermore, can you even imagine Wenger bringing in the necessary recruits to adequately supply top quality lineups in a Thursday / Sunday dominated schedule; based on everything I've seen in recent years, I can't see that happening... in fact, mark my words, it's more likely that we see Lacazette playing out wide in Alexis's position with Giroud at striker, than we see Wenger make the necessary moves to right this ship... god, I hope I'm wrong but is it really that far - fetched
considering what we've witnessed for past several years
The change paid off against Man United
as Walcott has claimed that he scored the winner, even if it was really a deflection, and is hoping that Wenger will now

Picture this, we don't come out of the gate firing on all cylinders, Wenger speaks of how there wasn't enough time for the first - teamers to build chemistry, several key players aren't even playing because of Wenger's utterly ridiculous policy regarding players who played in the Confed
Cup or the under21s and the boo - birds have returned in full flight... if these things were to happen, which is quite possible
considering the Groundhog Day mentality of this club, how long do you think it will take for Wenger to recant his earlier statements regarding Europa... I would suggest that it's these sorts of comments from Wenger which are often his undoing... why would any manager worth his weight in salt make such a definitive statement before the season has even started... why would any manager who fashions himself an educated man make such pronouncements before even knowing what his starting 11 will be come Friday, let alone on September 1st... why would any manager who has a tenuous relationship with a great many supporters offer up such a potentially contentious talking point
considering how many times his own words have come back to bite him in the ass... I think he does this because he doesn't care what you or I think, in fact he's more than slightly infuriated by the very idea of having to answer to the likes of you and me... that might have been acceptable during his formative years in charge, when the fans were rewarded with an scintillating brand of football and success felt like a forgone conclusion, but this new Wenger led team barely resembles that team of ore... whereas in times past we relished a few words from our seemingly cerebral manager, in recent times those words have been replaced by a myriad of excuses, a plethora of infuriating stories about who he could have signed but didn't and what can only be construed
as outright fabrications... it's kind of funny that when we want some answers, like during the whole contract debacle of last season, we can't get an intelligent word out of him, but when we just what him to show his managerial acumen through his actions, we can't seem to get him to shut - up... I beg you to prove me wrong Arsene
