as in the academic world (Biblical scholars) most of what was written by anonymous scribe 200 - 300 years after the
event are
consider Pseudepigraphic and if nescessary I can supply
historical reference.
Likewise, metaphysical systems can be
considered as speculative extensions of interpretive categories which within religious language itself are applied to distinctive types of experience and key
historical events.
(ENTIRE BOOK) Dr. Dibelius describes the New Testament
as the humanly conditioned deposit of an
historical event, and
considers that the crucial question in the struggle over Christianity is whether God made his will manifest in this
event.
In
considering the value of using
historical material the sceptical question first needs to be asked
as to whether there is likely to be documentation / records available that let us look in detail at
events that happened many hundreds of years ago and combine them with scientific material in a structured fashion that can elevate them above the easily dismissed «anecdote» which — whilst often interesting in themselves - tend to be one off snapshots that are not corroborated from other sources.
