The
console simply can't power the same
game that runs on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and that's
going to
keep the next «Call of Duty» from the Switch.
The launch of the Switch, the company's latest
console, has
gone exceptionally well, with retailers unable to
keep the system in stock, even though we're still months away from the peak buying season for video
game hardware and software.
I hate to
keep bringing up stereotypes of Poker
games, but for whatever reason these
games seem to be some of the worst looking
games on the
consoles, and unfortunately World Poker Tour
goes along with this trend.
I
keep hearing people list off a bunch of Nintendo
games and then say «well, I hope they
go 3rd party because I want to play all these
games but not get a Nintendo
console» If Nintendo has such a good lineup for you to say that... you should just get the
console!
If the XBO doesn't have interesting compelling AAA exclusives to rival PS4 exclusives nothing else would matter.Exclusive
games will always matter first & foremost when it comes to gaming
consoles, that's what differentiates every gaming
console &
keeps the competition
going.
To be fair, you can't blame them, their
game probably sold nothing on Wii U and the
console also bombed which wasn't too encouraging for 3rd parties to
keep the support
going.
This always on crap, blocking of used
games & such, is a huge step in the wrong direction for
gamers... & I think that if things
keep going that way & MS win with this crap, then the
console & gaming industry in general, is
going to suffer a 1980's meltdown.
In this feature, we're
going to take a look at what we feel are the fifteen most addictive
games on Nintendo's handheld -
console hybrid - the ones that
keep you glued to the screen, the ones that
keep you coming back for me, the ones you just can't stop playing.
Speaking at the Citi Global Technology Conference yesterday, CVP of marketing & strategy for Microsoft's IEB Yusuf Mehdi confirmed the companies plan to
keep the
console going, adding that there's currently over 100
games in development for the ageing machine.
Sony and Microsoft know just as well as Nintendo does that
going third party and putting their first - party
games on competing
consoles would be a mistake, anyways, so why do you
keep falsely insisting on it being a good idea?
As time
goes on, it just
keeps getting proven that XB1 is the better
console... even the «paper spec advantage» of the PS4 is disappearing quickly... all this time, and the «
gamer's
console» can't prove that it makes better
games, just more indie
games that they call exclusive.
I
went and got that
game with the greatest of anticipation (I am a fan of 2d
games on next gen
consoles with really purty graphics) but the fact that you cant
keep weapons in between «adventures» ruins it for me.
I am plowing through
game after
game on the 360 because I missed out on a lot at the beginning of the
console cycle, but I
keep going back to my Wii to play Brawl every so often.
The
game hit its initial goal of $ 900,000 in less than 40 hours and just
keeps going, reaching its stretch goals of extra levels,
game modes, making - of documentaries, and CPU /
console development.
The
game keeps track of Star Bits and coins, but if you have over 50 1 - ups like I had after the first play session, they'll be
gone when you turn your
console back on.
Spider - Man Edge of Time (while it was a bad
game) managed to be almost identical in content to its
console version and The Amazing Spider - Man on 3DS
keeps that tradition
going.
Porting the
game to a home
console was a good idea because the characters, story, and combat, are all very solid experiences, but today's
gamer isn't
going to be wowed by the presentation of the
game and it needs a strong hook to
keep you playing until things get interesting.
I think for us to be happy with a mobile
game, then it's
going to have to be something amazing to
keep us happy until a new
console game finally comes out.
I'd love to
go on and on about the massive amount of gameplay that can be done later on in the
game but I need to point out a few issues, you can see straight away Shoppe
Keep is a port and from the looks of things hasn't been done very well, the pictures used on the purchasing menu are too difficult to see to a point that you can't read the writing at all, even the pause menu is setup for a mouse, the 5 options would have been easy to scroll up and down with your thumbstick or D - pad but it has been left as a point and click cursor as a
console player this didn't cut the mustard for me.
The discounts
go all the way up to 80 % and for the platforms PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and Xbox One
keeping nearly all the
console gamers happy (Sorry Switch).
With third parties often stripping features out of the few
games they deigned to put on the
console, it was up to Nintendo to
keep things
going: their failure to do so cost the Wii U what little momentum it had at launch.
I think Digital prices on new
games are not really Sony's fault, they have to
keep retail stores happy otherwise they wont stock the
console and accessories, if Sony undercuts them (or even equals) on price then everyone is
going to
go digital only,
game stores will die and not be able to sell
consoles.
If Nintendo can set it up so anyone can call a friend without video chat, and
keep the call
going while playing a
game they will be set; they're already over half way to achieving that.The next point to cover is that their competitors that have been doing this, and basically perfected it the last
console generation.
So when Mr. Jorgensen said, «You'll most likely not be able to play with someone on a different generation,» all I heard was «You and your friends are gonna have to buy the newest
game console if you want to
keep playing together.»
This is perhaps the greatest benefit of
going the evolutionary
console route as it will
keep costs on hardware down and thus allowing Microsoft to invest more in software to provide
gamers with more
games, better
games and bigger
games.
It is important that SNK does it's best to try and
keep up with the modern fighting
games it competes with, and since they've
gone on record to say that making sprites is both expensive and time consuming, and they'd have to make new ones to match the graphic fidelity of the
console (s) the
game is
going to be on, it seems like trying to
go the whole sprite route might not end with a net gain for the company.
Keep this in mind if you
go that route: The original Xbox One
console only has a basic, non-4K, Blu - ray drive and doesn't support HDR or 4K output for apps or
games.
Plus, if Retro - Bit's other
consoles and peripherals are anything to
go by, they're likely to
keep the look and feel of the original, and maybe even create a
console that plays the original
games.
The latest generation of
consoles use as much energy in standby mode as when they're being played and that's caused by settings that don't actually allow the device to
go into sleep mode,
keeping them ready to fire right back up when you want to play another
game.
