While
the constant use of items can feel tedious at times, the real work is in grinding to level up.

I also think # 16 is a really over-inflated price for a very simple activity, and interestingly, one
of the shopkeepers, who had a clue in his window, actually started moaning to us when we went inside to work it out, saying In the Hidden City hadn't even spoken to him about
using the contents
of his shop window for their treasure hunt, and he was really rather upset by the
constant traffic
of treasure hunters only visiting his shop to look at one
item!
In comparison to other RPGs, which despite its
constant mockery Stick
of Truth is still trying to be, there's not a wealth
of equipment to play with and it's generally very obvious which
item is best to
use, but in the game's defense the selection available works well with the overall design
of the game.

One downside to the cluster
of players
using one screen means that when one player sorts through an
item or skill everyone must wait for that player to be finished, but in an attempt to mitigate some
of the
constant pausing Blizzard's come up with a reasonable (although not always definitive) solution:
items have three stat categories, Health, Armor and Damage which are then represented by either a green arrow (facing up), a red arrow (facing down) or a line to represent neutral.
Finding room keys to open up new sections
of the estate, and the
constant backtracking once new
items are found are pretty commonplace in the RE series, and are still
used here.
