A report on Monday suggested that Android tablets — namely the Samsung Galaxy Tab — had finally put a dent in the iPad's
consumer tablet market share, causing it to drop from 96 % to 77 % last quarter.

The PC industry may be shaken up by the rapid encroachment of
tablets into
consumer and enterprise spending habits — a trend that's seeing lighter devices like the iPad, as well as cheaper
tablets like Amazon's Kindle Fire and more, eat into the
market share of bigger and more expensive computers.
Strategy Analytics believes that enterprise purchases (as well as

market share, Apple is quickly gaining ground having captured 32 % of the e-reader
market with its iPad
consumer tablet.
It seems that most android
tablet makers have decided that lower prices is the way to gain
market share, which is good news for
consumers.

tablets are sure to capitalize on what at this point appears to be widespread
consumer demand for very thin and very light devices with exceptional battery life and a primary focus on portability and content consumption.»
Although
consumers may not favor Android
tablets over the iPad, Android
tablets»
market share could still rise considerably.

share in the growing cloud
market.
