With respect to carbohydrate -
containing food groups, a higher baseline consumption of vegetables and bread or cereals was associated with a reduced adjusted risk for inflammatory - disease — related mortality in women, whereas a higher baseline intake of foods rich in refined sugars or refined starches yielded an increased adjusted 13 - y risk (Figure 1).
