Finding satisfying breakfast choices can be a challenge for gluten - free vegans, as so many standard breakfast foods are based not only on animal products, but also on gluten -
containing grains (pancakes, bagels, toast, baked goods
in general, hot and cold cereals, and such).
From a
general Paleo perspective, I would share with you that both
grains and legumes
contain phytoestrogens, which can cause hormonal issues (we actually have a great article coming out about this
in our newsletter this month), so cutting those out may help.
There is reasonable evidence that
grain - based carbohydrates
in general and gluten
containing carbohydrates specifically are best avoided if your goal is weight loss.
For example, both gluten
grains (and I suspect
grains in general) plus dairy
contain opiate - like compounds that serve to reduce the motility (movement) of your gut.
In addition the book

In general, I think that any food that is
grain free is superior to a comparable one that
contains grains.
