The Curatorial Intensive:
Contemporary Curatorial Practice at the Bag Factory Artists» Studios is generously funded by Arts Collaboratory through the Triangle Network, with additional support by Africalia through the Visual Arts Network of South Africa (VANSA), the South African National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund, Everard Read Gallery, Sam Nhlengethwa, and the Goethe Institute.
A significant proportion of this is taken from the gallery's own impressive collection of folk and self - taught art, offering a fascinating insight into the increasing importance of peripheral work in
contemporary curatorial practice.

The program provides participants an introduction to the field of
contemporary curatorial practice today, and the opportunity to set up a foundation for future curatorial work.

But it also makes a good case for the role

Previously she was the inaugural international curator at the Ullens Center for
Contemporary Art in Beijing (2007 - 08) and chair of the Master's Program in
Curatorial Practice, which she co-founded in 2002 for California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
She has a career - long interest in alternative narratives of modernism and has pursued
curatorial projects that expand our understanding of the global diversity of

The Archives at the Center for
Curatorial Studies at Bard College serve as the institutional repository for the Center, and the Hessel Museum of Art and as a collecting repository which actively acquires, preserves, and provides access to a wide range of primary materials documenting the history of the
contemporary visual arts and the institutions and
practices of exhibition - making since the 1960s.
The Bass seeks a creative museum leader with expertise in
contemporary art with a minimum of 10 years of active
curatorial practice and management - level museum experience.
