The Brattleboro Museum and Art Center, based in Brattleboro, Vermont, is an independent, non-collecting museum which showcases a plethora of contemporary art from regional artists to international icons alike.

Awoken from our slumber, we are both seduced and appalled by the contemporary icons of warfare, the martyrs we were not meant to see.

Opening Saturday, April 28th, from 1 - 6PM at their 57th street gallery, works by Ani Art Academy students, alumni and instructors will be on display alongside a contingent of contemporary icons working in Imaginative Realism.

More than 100 artists» self - portraits are featured, ranging from Victorian masters JMW Turner and John Constable to 20th century greats Louise Bourgeois and Lucian Freud and contemporary icons Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas and Gillian Wearing.

Re-seeing the Contemporary, which also includes important loans from local collections, features surprising works, such as Steve Wolfe's Untitled (Piano Music for Erik Satie), alongside more familiar icons such as Jackson Pollock's Cathedral.

At Dorksy Gallery, Miller gathers documentation of walks by a wide group, from art icons Marina Abramović and General Idea to contemporary practitioners.
