Although many will suggest that Robson has a personal vendetta of sorts aimed squarely at the Grinch who stole soccer, that doesn't make his words any less truthful... such tactics are nothing new... in the U.S.this business practice has become so common that even the
players regularly use the media to manipulate public opinion (LeBron James did likewise to rally public support for himself and away from his teammate, Kyrie Irving, who has asked to be traded)... whether for contract leverage or to rally support for or against certain
players, this strategy can be incredibly effective at times, but when it misses the mark it can be dangerously divisive... for a close - to - the - vest
team like Arsenal to use such nefarious means to manufacture a wedge between the fans and it's best
player (again), is absolutely despicable... for the sanctimonious higher - ups who demand that it's
players adhere to a certain protocol regarding information deemed «in house» or else to intentionally spread «fake» news or to provide certain outlets with privileged information for such purposes is pretty low indeed... no moral high ground here, just a big club pretending to be a small club so that they can
continue to pull the wool over the eyes of a dedicated, albeit somewhat naive, fan base... so not only does this club no give a shit about it's fans, this clearly shows that clubs primary interests aren't even soccer related... for all intent and purposes Kroenke doesn't care if we're a soccer club or a tampon factory

2) No leaders across the pitch: Özil for all the money is no leader but a technically gifted
player who can split a defense with an exquisite vision and pass, Sanchez for all the dribbles
as the potential but is not there yet, Cazorla will never be in the conversation, Mertesacker is not fit to be one anymore, Coquelin for all the good he has done is too tender and inexperience, Giroud no WC
player to assume the role... the only one who can seriously be a leader is Wilshere but unfortunately until he becomes consistent and set the tone with his talent and passion... 3) Mertesacker is a shell of himself and it would be an embarrassment to see him

nice to see you crawl out of your hole just in time to offer your 2 cents worth once again... unlike yourself I started following this
team long before Wenger arrived on the scene and will
continue to do so long after he's gone... in his earlier years I admired the cerebral elements he brought to the EPL, which at that point was more brutish than beautiful, and I respected the seemingly tireless efforts of Arsene, Dein & staff to uncover and develop talent without sacrificing the product on the field... likewise I appreciated that such a youthful manager wasn't afraid to bring strong personalities and / or world - class
players into the fold without being fearful of how said
players would potentially undermine and / or dilute his authority... unfortunately this all changed about 10 years ago and culminated in the removal of all our greatest
players, both young and old, without any real replacements coming in... from Henry to RVP to Fabergas and Nasri, it was easy to see that this club was no longer interested in competing at the highest levels... instead of being honest, minus the ridiculous claims regarding the new stadium, Wenger chose to side with management and in doing so became the «front man» for this corporation pretending to be a world - class soccer club... without the «front man» this organization would have been exposed numerous years earlier, so his presence was imperative if the facade was to
continue... it's for this reason and more that I despise what this once great man and Kroenke has done to my beloved club... the gutless, shameful and manipulative way they have treated the fans, like myself, is largely indefensible and this is why I felt it necessary to start offering my opinion in a public format... trust me, I resisted the temptation for many years but

If Wenger allows Burnley to finish above Arsenal it will go down

Coquelin is such a lucky guy, with just months left on his contract, on the verge of becoming free has now become an integral part of this
team and has even been applauded by everyone within and outside the club, that's amazing. If he
continues like this and he gets more chances like Ramsey gets he will no doubt be the best in the league.someone said Matic is good offensively, I disagree with that, watch him more closely I will even go

The
players who should be sold to man city should be Mertesacker, Joel Campbell, Giroud, Welbeck, Jenkinson, Debuchy, Ospina and the like. These are

As a Fan I know that a fraction of the money I spend as a supporter goes to buy players, unfortunately it seems a very small fraction, so I will continue with my own little contribution, as I know the owner will rather see us in the relegation battle than dig into his pockets to reinforce the squad, but also would like to see a gesture from WENGER, whom we all know is going nowhere, as a Man of principles that he claims to be and that he will HONOR his Contract till the end, as the ARSENAL lover he claims to be cut your wages give back some of that money that you did not earn and contribute to the future glory of the Team, like each one of us Fans do when we spend our well and hard earned money, do this buy player

I will rather want Wenger to

Let's get real here.It is very unlikely that ANY professional
player will ever say anything derogatory about a teammate that has just left the club.If Jack had said about Coq - «Grew up playing with him in the Youth
Team and have fond memories of a
player they though he had very limited ability he always gave his all.Very surprised and disappointed the club never invested in a World Class defensive midfielder that we have quite obviously been lacking for a number of seasons and would no doubt have improved the defensive weakness we have shown over a number of seasons» we would have echoed his thoughts entirely. If he had said about Theo - «A
player who should have been so much better than he ended up being. He had everything needed to be a prolific
player for our club but I can understand the fans frustrations with his
continued lack - lustre performances and total lack of a football brain.I think this is best explained by the managers preference to play a
player of such limited ability
as Alex Iwobi in front of Theo pretty much says it all» we again would have all nodded our agreement.Although Jack never mentioned Alexis Sanchez I would imagine something along the lines of «If the Manager had not persisted with
players with such limited ability such
as Francis and Theo and instead bought the world class
players needed into the club then Sanchez would still most likely be here. The fans must wonder what the hell goes on at the club
as they pay fortunes for the privalage of following our club but it seems the millions generated ends up purchasing a new Texas Ranch for the Owner or in a yearly renumeration of # 9million pounds to our manager».
If things
continue to like this we'll always be begging
players to stay because we know if they leave there's no hope.
As if we care if he's difficult to deal with. The thing is he's doing his job well. For some years now it looks
as if we've become a one man
team and always begging
players to stay.We can't even handle our own
players. They always seem to be the one's dictating to the coach and the club.We tend to give
players the right to feel a bit big due to poor management. For how long will this
continue.Any time a top
player wants to leave the club he becomes the controller of things. When can Arsenal show authority. We keep milking our
players. There's no ruthlessness from our manager.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where
players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current
players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these
players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects,
as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox
as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise...
as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national
team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch...
as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive
players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a
player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the
players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National
team's midfield, where
teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this
player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part
as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3
players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential
as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we
continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill
players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this
team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a
player would make sense
as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6
players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this
team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
By selecting the best
players which excludes the likes of Czech and Mustafi. They are the common denominators in virtually all the away defeats to sides below Arsenal in the league.I am not a lover of stats but these are the facts which Wenger chooses to ignore. There is absolutely no point in strengthening other parts of the
team for example by replacing Wilsh ere and
continuing to play Czech and Mustafi.A
team is only
as good
as it's poorest
player and in Czech and Mustafi we have two of the poorest exponents in their positions in the Premier League.
Its good to have

Honestly, paulinho is a disgrace to a midfield that once boasted of xavi deco etc
As for the others I don't think details are necessary, the bottom line is that for a board with a sporting director Barca made a huge mistake in allowing lucho sign such
players (he wasn't responsible for paulinho but he gave them such ideas), from now on we should keep a group of world class
players (like RM), coaches who Believe in our PHILOSOPHY only should come and use these
players to give us our football back, valverde is not successful because of messi only, he is successful because the core of this
team is a group of the most technically gifted and intelligent
players in the world, the board knows this and so do RM, that's why we are chasing
players like fdj, deligt, and even alaba, because once this core of la masia talent is gone we would be useless if there are no adequate replacements, this board must
continue signing replacements for our core and for once!
Team - mate Rafael da Silva says the United
players continue to be astonished by Giggs's ability,
as he gears up for the Champions League showdown against Real Madrid.
even when he suffered a serious knee injury, instead of accepting the fact that he would never stick his legs into the spaces that were crucial for someone with straight ahead speed to succeed, the club actually contemplated giving him a chance to play up top where his lack of physicality, size and holding up play talents would been on display for all to see... these are not the actions of a club that really cares about winning at the highest levels, but they are the actions of a club that wasn't interested in spending the necessary resources to purchases a world - class striker, which is usually the most expensive position on the pitch... instead we adopted the horrible phrase «like a new signing» and proceeded to allow this ridiculous experiment to carry on, which ultimately caused some discomfort on the training pitch and inside the locker room
as players battled for a position that shouldn't have been theirs for the taking in the first place... don't get me wrong, I believe that Walcott is a talented
player, who can help a
team reach their goals, if their goals are relatively modest... just look at the
teams who supposedly expressed interest in his services and they weren't the kind of clubs who aspire to win at the highest levels...
as for the reasons why he hasn't been bitching and moaning about moving on just look at the wage benefits he receives from our club and his obvious desire to enjoy the societal advantages that come with playing in North London for a club with worldwide appeal... so instead of
continuing to try to fix a coat with a broken zipper simply move on and buy a new and better coat
With the deal
continuing to drag on, however, it seems
as though the door has been reopened for Chelsea and Manchester United to reignite their interest in the
player as both clubs chase centre backs who can tie down a position in their
teams for the long term.
If we
continue playing
as a
team like we did Sunday I believe that sooner rather than later he will adapt and be more of a
team player, he brought in a winning mentality, zero mental issues against the big
teams hope he inspire other
players... and NO I have nothing wrong to say about SANCHEZ
Two superbly skillful midfield
players, Real Madrid pairing Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have been a big part in the Spanish giants» success this season
as Real have
continued to blow
teams away so far.
Granit Xhaka has been a first -
team player since our recent switch to the newly - fashionable 3 -4-2-1 formation, and his name would be a welcome one on the teamsheet
as we look to
continue our strong run within the new system.
No matter how you slice it, you can't run an uptempo offence with Giroud on the pitch and that means sideways soccer and an over-reliance on crosses into the box, thereby negating many of the very reasons Lacazette was on your radar in the first place... we simply aren't clinical enough from wide positions to
continue with that approach, which is why many fans have been clamoring for a viable alternative to Giroud for several years... once again this isn't an attack on Giroud, he clearly has some tangible skills, but his mere presence on the pitch greatly impacts your tactical options... Giroud's weaknesses are simply highlighted by the way in which our offence now moves in a more horizontal than vertical manner, which allows most
teams ample time to regroup defensively before a scoring opportunity even arises... a
player of Ibra's or Benzema's ilk would have been far more effective
as they had size, speed and the first touch capabilities required to for intricate link - up play... once again square peg in a round hole
It's a
team game but you need these
players in your
team if you want to
continue to play
as well
as we are at the moment.
As sport budgets
continue to get tighter, coaches need outside organizations and club
teams to help build and develop their underclassmen to become JV and Varsity
players in the coming years.
If Mbappe does move to the Etihad, he will be a pivotal piece in Guardiola's
team as he
continues to assemble a young and dangerous collection of attacking
players.
be safe expect the worst ie do nt raise your expectations now n then start yapping at September that we need a striker, dm etc... The side effect of that is always becoming a WOB for a huge portion of the season up until march when the
team work their asses out, grabs seven wins in a row, finishes strongly, everyone's praising it
as the best
team from the turn of the year, Mr Wenger buys (mostly comes free or cheap) a mediocre
player, everyone is nuts over him n by October, we r fighting for the champions league spot and the cycle
continues like FOREVER......................
If Arsenal's * billionaire backer's supported their
team more and made it known like Abramovich by putting the money where their mouth is (rhetorical saying) then perhaps talented
players wouldn't
continue to use arsenal
as if we're a stepping stone to go to somewhere else.
Time for some brutal honesty... this
team,
as it stands, is in no better position to compete next season than they were 12 months ago, minus the fact that some fans have been easily snowed by the acquisition of Lacazette, the free transfer LB and the release of Sanogo... if you look at the facts carefully you will see a
team that still has far more questions than answers... to better show what I mean by this statement I will briefly discuss the current state of affairs on a position - by - position basis... in goal we have 4 potential candidates, but in reality we have only 1 option with any real future and somehow he's the only one we have actively tried to get rid of for years because he and his father were a little too involved on social media and he got caught smoking (funny how people still defend Wiltshire under the same and far worse circumstances)... you would think we would want to keep any goaltender that Juventus had interest in,
as they seem to have a pretty good history when it comes to that position...
as far
as the defenders on our current roster there are only a few individuals whom have the skill and / or youth worthy of our time and / or investment,
as such we should get rid of anyone who doesn't meet those simple requirements, which means we should get rid of DeBouchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Mertz and loan out Chambers to see if last seasons foray with Middlesborough was an anomaly or a prediction of things to come... some fans have lamented wildly about the return of Mertz to the starting lineup due to his FA Cup performance but these sort of pie in the sky meanderings are indicative of what's wrong with this club and it's wishy - washy fan - base... in addition to these moves the club should aggressively pursue the acquisition of dominant and mobile CB to stabilize an all too fragile defensive group that has self - destructed on numerous occasions over the past 5 seasons... moving forward and building on our need to re-establish our once dominant presence throughout the middle of the park we need to target a CDM then do whatever it takes to get that
player into the fold without any of the usual nickel and diming we have become famous for (this kind of ruthless haggling has cost us numerous special
players and certainly can't help make the
player in question feel good about the way their future potential employer feels about them)... in order for us to become dominant again we need to be strong up the middle again from Goalkeeper to CB to DM to ACM to striker, like we did in our most glorious years before and during Wenger's reign... with this in mind, if we want Ozil to be that dominant attacking midfielder we can't keep leaving him exposed to constant ridicule about his lack of defensive prowess and provide him with the proper
players in the final third... he was never a good defensive
player in Real or with the German National squad and they certainly didn't suffer
as a result of his presence on the pitch...
as for the rest of the midfield the blame falls squarely in the hands of Wenger and Gazidis, the fact that Ramsey, Ox, Sanchez and even Ozil were allowed to regularly start when none of the aforementioned had more than a year left under contract is criminal for a club of this size and financial might... the fact that we could find money for Walcott and Xhaka, who weren't even guaranteed starters, means that our whole business model needs a complete overhaul... for me it's time to get rid of some serious deadweight, even if it means selling them below what you believe their market value is just to simply right this ship and change the stagnant culture that currently exists... this means saying goodbye to Wiltshire, Elneny, Carzola, Walcott and Ramsey... everyone, minus Elneny, have spent just
as much time on the training table
as on the field of play, which would be manageable if they weren't so inconsistent from a performance standpoint (excluding Carzola, who is like the recent version of Rosicky — too bad, both will be deeply missed)... in their places we need to bring in some proven performers with no history of injuries... up front, although I do like the possibilities that a
player like Lacazette presents, the fact that we had to wait so many years to acquire some true quality at the striker position falls once again squarely at the feet of Wenger... this issue highlights the ultimate scam being perpetrated by this club since the arrival of Kroenke: pretend your a small market club when it comes to making purchases but milk your fans like a big market club when it comes to ticket prices and merchandising... I believe the reason why Wenger hasn't pursued someone of Henry's quality, minus a fairly inexpensive RVP, was that he knew that they would demand
players of a similar ilk to be brought on board and that wasn't possible when the business model was that of a «selling» club... does it really make sense that we could only make a cheeky bid for Suarez, or that we couldn't get Higuain over the line when he was being offered up for half the price he eventually went to Juve for, or that we've only paid any interest to strikers who were clearly not going to press their current
teams to let them go to Arsenal like Benzema or Cavani... just part of the facade that finally came crashing down when Sanchez finally called their bluff... the fact remains that no one wants to win more than Sanchez, including Wenger, and although I don't agree with everything that he has done off the field, I would much rather have Alexis front and center than a manager who has clearly bought into the Kroenke model in large part due to the fact that his enormous ego suggests that only he could accomplish great things without breaking the bank... unfortunately that isn't possible anymore
as the game has changed quite dramatically in the last 15 years, which has left a largely complacent and complicit Wenger on the outside looking in... so don't blame those
players who demanded more and were left wanting... don't blame those fans who have tried desperately to raise awareness for several years when cracks began to appear... place the blame at the feet of those who were well aware all along of the potential pitfalls of just such a plan but
continued to follow it even when it was no longer a financial necessity, like it ever really was...
Lukaku my left foot Lol, the guy is a small
team player, Mourihno this days isnt injecting brain at all into his dealings... I now seems to love him, he should
continue to err
as we succeed.
The football media and the Arsenal fans,
players and manager have been feeling more and more optimistic
as the current Gunners side
continues to look better and extends the great run of form that has seen Arsenal climb steadily up the table, enjoying a nice early St. Totteringham's day in the process and having the best form of any
team in the top European leagues since the start of 2015.
Although it will be incredibly difficult to ever match his contributions on the pitch, it's vitally important for a former club legend, like Henry, to publicly address his concerns regarding the direction of this club... regardless of those who still feel that Henry has some sort of agenda due to the backlash he received following earlier comments he made on air regarding Arsenal, he has an intimate understanding of the game, he knows the fans are being hosed and he feels some sense of obligation, both professionally and personally, to tell it like he sees it... much like I've continually expressed over the last couple months, this
team isn't evolving under this current ownership / management
team... instead we are currently experiencing a «stagnant» phase in our club's storied history... a fact that can't be hidden by simply changing the formation or bringing in one or two individuals... this
team needs fundamental change in the way it conducts business both on and off the pitch or it will
continue to slowly devolve into a second tier club... regardless of the euphoria surrounding our escape act on Friday evening,
as it stands, this club is more likely to be fighting for a Europa League spot for the foreseeable future than a top 4 finish... we can't hope for the failures of others to secure our place in the top 4, we need to be the manufacturers of our own success by doing whatever is necessary to evolve
as an organization... if Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke can't take the necessary steps following the debacle they manufactured last season, their removal is imperative for our future success... unfortunately, I strongly believe that either they don't know how to proceed in the present economic climate or they are unwilling to do whatever it takes to turn this ship around... just look at the current state of our squad, none of our world class
players are under contract beyond this season, we have a ridiculous wage bill considering the results, we can't sell our deadwood because we've mismanaged our personnel decisions and contractual obligations, we haven't properly cultivated our younger talent and we might have become one of the worst clubs ever when it comes to way we handle our transfer business, which under Dein was one of our greatest assets... it's time to get things right!!!
He
continued, «I could see that he was a major element here, he really helped the
team, he really is a
player I want to emulate because of his type of work and his will to help his
team - mates, his will to win
as a true Brazilian.
Lacazette and Kolasinac could turn out to be good signings and if Ozil returns to top form and Xhaka
continues to progress
as he did toward the end of last season in is adaptation to the PL and overall good
player; I can see Arsenal being a dominant
team.
Unless we recruit in these areas, because Wenger clearly does not trust Holding and Chambers in Premier league matches, we will
continue to be also rans.
As far
as I am aware AW sanctions all sales, loans and acquisitions and
as such he alone is responsible for the
teams performance.The
players showed plenty of fighting spirit against Man Utd who were handed their goals on a plate.
Brian has worked tirelessly for the past 7 years allowing the club to evolve and grow,
as it
continues to develop great
teams and
players of the highest caliber.
A
player who still has plenty of class, David Silva should
continue on the left flank in his free role
as the
team's main playmaker.
