alien assault on Earth landmarks in the final battle.
Battle: Los Angeles finally hits a more blockbuster tone in the final act, where the squad takes on an enormous
alien control ship using all
of their resources and military instinct.
Previously I worked on Affordable Space Adventures for Wii U, an award - winning title that has players
control either solo or in co-op a spaceship through a dangerous
alien planet, with the Wii U GamePad's touch - screen serving as the Heads - Down Display
of the
ship.
This time, players will
control the daughter
of Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley, who must survive the
alien menace by fighting her way through a commercial towing
ship infested by a deadly
alien horde.
In that game, you
controlled a spaceship at the bottom
of the screen, confronting waves
of invading
aliens arranged in rows and columns who slowly descended upon your
ship.
The aesthetics
of Space Tyrant are quirky, comedic and colorful; the interface, character art and
ship designs are all fantastic (I was particularly taken with the grumpy space - flower
alien which took
control of one
of my fleets).
The angry robot, Gundo, shares a
ship style with Dregg, and they use their hands on large
control orbs, while with Tik Tak Toh, two
of the three
aliens that make up this character can be seen
controlling each joystick.
