The problem was trying to figure out how the characters would play considering how differently Grimlock
controlled than other characters.

The virtues essentially stop with the shot design and the work of Edward Norton (himself being a sort of walking meta joke, as his
character arrives on scene and immediately begins armchair directing and taking
control, something for which Norton himself has been infamous on set), and while the
other actors are fine, they do not manage to separate themselves as anything
other than puppets for Inarritu's agenda, who looms over every frame like some petulant child with a grudge and a budget that allowed him to force his opinions on an unwitting public.
This gives you more
control over your
character than most
other games out there; you could focus on building your sniper's cloaking tech, or maybe you want the biggest and best guns for the engineer, you have complete
control.
Sure, we had
other games where the player
controlled more
than one protagonist, but this was the first game where the set of
characters you chose at the start of the adventure could dramatically change the story and its outcome.
Some
characters are a bit quicker
than others with their punches and dives, but you never have the greatest
control over your ninja (and one level in particular intentionally makes the
controls next to impossible to use).
Usage of the gamepad can be more difficult in some attraction
than in
others, such as in Animal Crossing: Sweet Day where the two analog sticks
control separate
characters, or in Metroid Blast where the player has to
control a vehicle.
I think the one thing the game does better
than any
other multiplayer game is making you feel like the
character you are
controlling.
Online gameplay is pretty smooth and fun, as
other players are typically smarter
than computer -
