Gender gaps in educational attainment, which are not unique to the United States, are more
difficult to explain using
conventional economic models than gaps based on socioeconomic status or race, because males and females grow up in the same families and attend the same schools.Recent evidence provides one possible explanation for the especially large gender gap in high
