conversation about legal education is taking place.
My co-author, Kate Glover, and I used Rod Macdonald's conception of legal pedagogy to posit that undergraduate and graduate legal education should not be polarized and siphoned off into separate silos where, inevitably, much of
the conversation about legal education excludes graduate study.

legal education produces correspondingly valuable resources, without a doubt, but those resources can not equip litigants to comfortably and competently manage the system — especially those unable to devote themselves to the full - time study of
legal processes, those whose first language is not English or French, or those with cognitive or functional impairments — and, as a result, whenever we talk
about litigants without counsel, the
conversation inevitably veers toward the delays, costs and other inconveniences such litigants impose on court and counsel.
This podcast features
conversations about the law, law and society, law and technology, and the future of
legal education and practice, not to mention Making A Murderer.
In thinking
about these two recommendations, it would be all too easy to find ourselves re-hashing the well - travelled and contentious
conversation of «who» determines the shape of this
education, whether the federation or the law societies gets to decide what should be delivered as mandatory in
legal education.
Justice
education goes beyond providing young people with information
about rights and
legal procedures; it creates opportunities for open and honest
conversations with people who work within the
legal system.
