How do you go about
converting old files?

Ebooks from traditional publishers have DRM and can't be
converted — I know this because I tried
converting some of MY
old Fictionwise
files and was informed it wasn't doable.
And like iTunes, Calibre has the ability to
convert between one ebook format and another: between ePub and mobi (
old Kindle) or AZW3 (newer Kindle), say, or between LIT format
files and ePub, so that you can read that
old Microsoft Reader book on the iBooks app of your iPad or Mac.
Secondly, if you have downloaded the ebook before, and install the Adobe Digital Editions again now (or update the Adobe Digital Editions), you have to delete the
old EPUB
file first, then download it again through the new Adobe Digital Editions, or it also can't be
converted.
That failure to
convert old titles, has, in its turn, opened the door to self publishing as an attraction, which is fine, but is incomparable to what the publishers themselves could have offered in the extent of great work that sits in their out of print

old» version that was compatible with the 2001 program, then
convert my
