MARYLAND - «Some of the ideas that have been discussed are forming a registry of all
those convicted of animal cruelty cases, possibly preventing those who are found guilty from ever owning animals again.»
It should be noted, that the director
of B&K Universal, Ghislaine Rondot, as well as veterinarian Renzo Graziosi, and director
of Marshall Bioresources Roberto Bravi, were
convicted in January 2015 to up to 18 months
of jail due to
cases of animal cruelty and illegal killing
of lab
animals, after the closure
of their Green Hill breeding facility in Italy, in 2012.
The
case of dogfighter Craig Boyd illustrates how failing to prosecute operators aggressively, issuing lenient sentences for the
convicted, and completely ignoring accessories to the crime impede efforts to stop
animal fighting and all its
cruelty.
