To save myself some brainpower, I just decided to have both, bringing the wonderful worlds of ice cream and no -
cook oats together in this Reece's NanaCream Overnight Oats.

You can also mash some of the
cooked lentils in the food processor along with the
oats to help the loaf bind
together better.
1) Pre-heat oven to 300 deg Fahrenheit (150 deg cel) 2) Line one large baking sheet (0r two medium baking sheets) with parchment paper 3) In a large bowl, combine the
oats, chia seeds, flax seeds, raisins, almonds and other nuts, and mix well 4) In a smaller bowl, whisk
together the honey, light brown sugar, melted butter and cinnamon until smooth and sugar has dissolved 5) Pour the honey mixture over the dry ingredients and stir well until you get a homogeneous mixture 6) Pour the mixture over the baking sheets and spread evenly with a spatula, then season lightly with sea salt 7) Bake for 15 minutes, then stir the granola gently (to make sure all sides are
cooked) 8) At this point, you may need to switch the baking sheets (if you are using 2) so the granola
cooks evenly 9) Bake for another 15 minutes, then stir again, before
cooking for a final 15 minutes or until golden brown 10) Remove granola from the oven and place on
cooking racks until completely cool and crisp 11) Store granola in air - tight containers at room temperature.
In a tupperware, mix
together 2 cups of vegan chai hot chocolate and 1 cup of quick
cooking oats.
Now mix the
oats, rice,
cooked onions and mushrooms, salt, pepper and smoked paprika or liquid smoke
together.
A weekend breakfast I whipped up for Matt was half rolled
oats and half kamut flakes,
cooked together.
Blend
together the following ingredients: 1 1/4 cup rolled
oats or 1 cup
oats and 1/4 cup cornmeal 4 tablespoons ground flax seeds 1/4 cup sunflower and / or pumpkin seeds 2 tablespoons cornstarch or Ener - G Egg Replacer 2 cups water 1 tsp fennel seeds Vegetable
cooking oil for the waffle iron
** When I used the gluten - free
oats, they didn't hold
together as well when I was trying to shape them into patties, but once they
cook on one side, they firm up nicely and it's not an issue.
Mix
together quick
cooking oats, some flour, butter and a bit of sugar.
These
oats are made on the hob, which means you have time to brew yourself a delicious coffee as they
cook, and drink it as you mix all the ingredients
together.
Mix the (
cooked) lentils, the (
cooked) chickpeas, the
oats, the diced shallot and garlic, the seeds, the miso, olive oil, lemon juice and all the spices
together in a bowl.
The addition of the grated orange zest
cooked in the
oats gives it that fresh and zingy taste while the cacao and pecan milk mixed
together is responsible for the seemingly indulgent creamy consistency.
While oil / sugar is
cooking, mix
together oats, crisp rice cereal, and Better Batter flour until well combined.
I've made 36 different versions of this recipe — past versions have included yogurt, eggs, quinoa, pumpkin, quick -
cooking oats, steel - cut
oats, Dutch cocoa, coconut flakes, hemp milk, soy milk, Amish milk, blueberries, Craisins, blackberries, nutmeg, and cardamom (but not all
together).
Taking a few hours over the weekend to make a soup, roast some vegetables,
cook a pot of beans, make overnight
oats, wash and dry salad greens, and prep a hearty grain allows you to easily throw
together meals over the next few days.
Depending on the form of
oats you are using and the type of grain you wish to add, you may be able to
cook the two grains
together.
I actually made this for dinner, so if you choose to do that to, you will need to put the ingredients
together an hour or so before
cooking to let the
oats «rest» and absorb the liquid ingredients.
