I use
porridge oats for oatmeal /
porridge as these are finer and
cook much quicker.
As I am a working Mum I tend to batch
cook at the weekend, could these
porridge squares be frozen?
The trick about
cooking porridge is adding all the delicious ingredients at the begining so that
as the buckwheat groats
cook and expand they absorb all the amazing flavours making the final bowl a million times more flavoursome than if you add them at the end.
I
cooked this amazing
porridge for breakfast yesterday and it was so delicious that I
cooked it today
as well!
Add a little extra water and / or almond milk to thin the
porridge out
as it's
cooking, if needed.
It's also delicious

But now that winter is approaching, I have been craving

as I did in my flourless quinoa gluten free chocolate cake.
As the quinoa finishes up
cooking, the pears should be just coming out of the oven, which, along with some fresh berries and a few pomegranate arils, make for a sweet, flavorful upgrade to your basic bowl of
porridge or oatmeal and an altogether decadent start to your day.

as salads, lightly

porridge, green and superfood smoothies, fruit, raw vegetables, small amounts of healthy fats (peanut butter, olives, coconut, raw almond butter, raw nuts and seeds, etc.), and more raw entrees along with steamed vegetables or the occasional roasted vegetable, legume and grain dish.

porridge on the stove over a mid-low heat, using almond milk instead of apple juice for an even creamier texture and adding diced apple into the
porridge as it
cooks.

as two weeks in banana leaves; before the introduction of commercial brewers yeast, Europeans made slow - rise breads from fermented starters; in America the pioneers were famous for their sourdough breads, pancakes and biscuits; and throughout Europe grains were soaked overnight, and for
as long
as several days, in water or soured milk before they were
cooked and served
as porridge or gruel.
Porridge on the other hand is 40g and
as it is finely ground and expands once it's
cooked you get a lot more bang for your buck (or, food for your grams?!).
Dried mulberries: Dried mulberries are another favorite way of mine to add some sweetness to my day, and I love to add them into my morning
porridge (I
cook them with the oats so that they'll become super soft and chewy), or I add them on top smoothies, pancakes, yogurt, or just eat them
