If anything, I would say the
cookery class, with it's long communal table, would work really well
as a singles event, because it was so easy to talk to people, and if anything it felt a little rude trying to have a two - person conversation in amongst all the other students, especially
as so many were there on their own.
There are many ways that schools try to encourage parental involvement, from welcoming them
as classroom volunteers, being available out of hours, live chat sessions, even child - parent
cookery classes, and so on.
The school is taking part in the «Change4Life» campaign, and will be running
cookery classes for children
as well
as encouraging «Smart Swaps» like having fruit instead of crisps.
Local homestays, «taster
classes» in things like
cookery and crafts, and a move away from huge faceless hotels owned by multinationals will ensure the tourist pound or dollar goes back into the community,
