It's because these cookie bars are inspired by one of my Facebook fans who suggested that I try baking my coconut oil chocolate chip
cookies in a square pan.
Not exact matches
You can even make jam thumbprints or use the dough as the base (
in an 8 - inch or 9 - inch
square baking
pan) for bar
cookies.
For unlike
cookies where the batter is dropped
in mounds on a baking sheet, or formed into individual balls, or even rolled out and cut into pretty shapes, a batter for
squares is simply spread into a
pan.
I also didn't use an 8 × 8
pan, had to wing it since I don't have any baking
pans here
in Switzerland yet but it worked just fine when I formed the mixture into a basic
square about an inch thick and baked on my
cookie tray.
I made them
in a
square cookie bar
pan, and added, a mini muffin size, homemade nut butter cup to the center of each brownie before baking @ 350F for 15 - 17 minutes.
** You can form these into
cookies or granola bars by flattening the dough
in an 8x8
square pan if you prefer not to roll them out.
I baked my dough
in a 9 × 9
square cake
pan (greased very well) and then turned it out onto a
cookie sheet.
