Who doesn't love the idea of freeing up some oven space this Easter by
cooking your ham in the slow cooker?
Seriously, after
cooking ham in the slower cooker, I will never mess with cooking one in the oven ever again.
I also use 1 can of chicken stock and 1 can of beef stock when I make this (plus any liquid that I've saved (frozen) from
cooking the ham)-- this seems to give a more complex flavor (we like it).
One of the reasons I love
cooking ham is for the ham salad sandwiches the week after!
He starts
