To make pumpkin puree at home, puree
cooked pumpkin in a food processor.
I do slip in rolled oats (the 5 - minute kind) for extra fiber whenever I bake something, I sometimes put
cooked pumpkin in chocolate chip cookies (sounds gross but is really delicious and makes them moist), and I'm notorious for putting beans into too many meals, but that's about it.
I think I have everything necessary to make this soup except I can't find
any cooking pumpkins in my store.

We may not have many chilly days or crimson and gold leafed maples
in Southern California, but I can get a taste of Vermont by placing several large
pumpkins by our front door and
