Start with a small batch the first
time just in case you need to make
adjustments to the
cook time or amount of liquid for making black rice in your own rice
cooker.
The only
adjustment I had to make was to lower the temp to 350 (my ramekins said that was their upper heat limit) and add 2 - 3 mins of
cooking time.
After reading other reviews on the high calorie count of this soup, I made the following
adjustments: I reduced the corn to 2 ears, used chopped green onions I had on hand (which reduced initial
cooking time) and used unpeeled fingerling potatoes (4) again because I had them on hand, again reducing
cooking time.

adjustments - no anchovy, canned beans, used all kale, and added kielbasa which cut the
cooking time down to 2 hours.

cooks only want gas stoves, mainly because of the instantaneous control over temperature — with no lag
time as ceramic or coil elements heat or cool — and the continuous
adjustment capacity to set exactly the correct heat level.
