I am wondering how long things like balsamic vinegar, soy sauce,
white cooking wines etc keep for once opened?
I am glad you found this recipe; my mum did the same thing but with
Chinese cooking wine and sesame oil.
In the top portion of a double boiler combine cinnamon through
red cooking wine.
Add cooking wine, cream and vegetable stock and bring to the boil with the lid on.
Then add 2 Tbsp of hot pepper paste, 1 1/2 Tbsp corn syrup (or honey), 1 tbsp

I followed the directions to a T. Next time I'll take the lid off and let the sauce simmer down, so that it's not so watery and I'll use real wine instead

I think maybe subbing in a mixture of red wine vinegar and
cooking wine for the half cup of balsamic vinegar may be a better way to go.
